Goodman Rorwana reported that they had a meeting and discussed this matter in detail with the official, Rushdi Brown, Morne de Wet and the Cllr Khatshwa. The recommendation was that they do not support the fencing of the ponds but that the department in consultation with Solid Waste department, will do regular clean-ups as illegal dumping also takes place around the pond.
Cllr Khatshwa responded that the officials gave clear explanations as to why the fencing around the ponds cannot be done and that we are guided by the policies and agreed that the motion can be removed and when the Department have money then they will look at their master plan and see that there is this project of fencing of ponds.
RESOLVED
That the item be REMOVED from the MRA’s as the Department gave clear explanations as to why they don’t support the fencing around the ponds.
