Resolution detail
The Subcouncil manager introduced the report on the Application for extension of Liquor trading hours in respect of Ward 39 – KTC Family Liquor Store, ERF 12704, Mjodo Street, KTC, Nyanga East, 7750, Reference Number: WCP/037304- Sun.
Cllr Yozi said that he would like to get a detail of the community members who are in support and also the health representative that also supports the application in order to give them clarity on why are they objecting to the application. He also said that from the previous term there was a fight because they would like to change that to a club or a beer hall and KTC is contributing high crime and they are motivated by consumption of alcohol. He also mentioned that the facility is next to a clinic and a community hall and it is not safe for the community.
Mr. Daniels said that the Fire department was not granted permission to enter the premises.
Cllr Yozi said that they also sleep in those shops and that might be the reason why they did not allow the official to enter the premises.
Cllr Nyingwa supported Cllr Yozi for not supporting the extension of trading hours.
Cllr Jacobs supported the refusal.
There was unanimous agreement with the resolution.
