REPORT TO SUBCOUNCIL ON EXPANDED PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME (EPWP) IMPLEMENTATION AND PROGRESS IN THE 2019/20 FINANCIAL YEAR
Ms Rix informed the Subcouncil the aim of the report is to provide Subcouncils with an update on the progress with regards to the implementation of the Expanded Public Works programme (EPWP) in the City of Cape town.
The City of Cape Town aimed to create 35 000 (Amended to 30 000) EPWP work opportunities during the 2019/20 financial year. Atotal of 31 871 work opportunities were created.
Cllr Moses informed the members City of Cape Town in terms of corporate scorecard and gender equity met target and major achievement. WFC community service in health need to move up.
Ald. Antonio van der Rheede advocated that door to door role out jobseeker applications registration need to be done for people with special needs.

RESOLVED
The Subcouncil members NOTED the progress report on the implementation of EPWP and requested that more employment opportunities be directed in ambit for people with special needs.
