RESOLVED:

That it be NOTED that an application for a liquor license was received from HILLCREST LIQUOR SHOP and was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:

Subcouncil 22 recommends that the application for a Consumption OFF Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA20070012, for the business Hillcrest Liquor Shop Erf 3640, No 100, Blue Downsway, Hillcrest Heights, NOT BE SUPPORTED, for the following reasons:

The close proximity to sensitive facilities namely:

ECD centre / creche at the back of this establishment,
Three churches within 5km radius
Two schools in close proximity of this establishment namely:

Tuscany Glen and Forest Village High Schools

This is a crime-ridden area and therefore the social economic

factors in establishing of this liquor outlet will lead to the deteriorate.

SAPS Kleinvlei did not submit comment to Subcouncil office as required. However, SAPS advised Cllr S Oerson that they will submit their objection report directly to the Western Cape Liquor Board.
