Myezo Nqentsu reported that is the erf in Makhaza which was invaded and it is now a legal matter and not easy to initiate a PHP. He said before they get to that level that it is imperative and gave a background at what stage it becomes a PHP project. Human Settlements Department first need to develop the area and provide services to these sites, then they allocate beneficiaries who needs to be screened and verify the beneficiaries if they qualify for a housing subsidy and after this process it will reflect as a PHP project. He said at this stage, the site that is invaded is currently not being serviced and there are no beneficiaries allocated to it and therefore cannot be transformed into a PHP.
Cllr Ngwekazi stated that he is happy with the response and agreed to have the motion removed.
RESOLVED
That the item be REMOVED from the MRA’s as the response has been received Vuyokazi Njokwana and explained by the official Myezo Nqentsu of Human Settlements that the site that is invaded is not being serviced and no beneficiaries has been allocated to it and therefore cannot be transformed into a PHP.
