RESOLVED that:
 
It is recommended that portions of Erven 33420, 33421, 33444, 33445, 33446, 33447 and 33448 Cape Town situated at the corner of Birdwood Street and Aden Avenue, Athlone measuring approximately 351 1m2 in extent, indicated as  ABCDEFGH on Plan STC 2999 marked annexure "A", be reserved for the Operational Policy and Planning Department (Land and Forward Planning Branch), subject to the following conditions:
  1. The subject property shall be utilised for the purposes of a Commercial and Residential Development only;
  2. The Operational Policy and Planning Department takes responsibility for the required land use processes, as well as compliance with any related legislation;
  3. The said Department accepts full responsibility for the management and maintenance of the land and any structure to be erected thereon, including maintenance, utility consumption, security and content insurance, as is applicable;
  4. All costs related to the reservation shall be for the account of the Operational Policy and Planning Department (Land and Forward Planning Branch).

PROPOSED LEASE OF CITY OWNED LAND, BEING ERF 17451, SITUATED AT JONATHAN STREET, HAZENDAL, ATHLONE: BREAKING BARRIERS COMMUNITY OUTREACH
 
The house supported the recommendation subject to the following amendment:
Pages 103, 105 and 105 it should read Subcouncil 17 and not Subcouncil 16 as stipulated on these pages.

RESOLVED that:
 
It is recommended that the lease Erf 174951 situated at Jonathan street, Hazendale, Athlone shown hatched on the aerial photograph marked annexure A, in extent approximately ± 986 m2 to Breaking Barriers Community Outreach be approved subject to inter alia the following conditions
  1. Rental of R920 per annum, inclusive of rates, excluding VAT, being R138(in total RI 058) be payable;
  2. Subject to any increase in terms of rental for leased land as determined from time to time by Council;
  3. The lease will endure for a period of three years;
  4. The property be used for social care purposes only;
  5. The rental be exclusive of all municipal services e.g. water and electricity
  6. Subject to such further conditions to be imposed by the Director: Property Management in terms of her delegated authority;
  7. Subject to compliance with any other statutory requirements;
  8. No compensation will be payable for any improvement made to the property;
  9. The lessee is to ensure that the necessary land use permissions, if applicable, are in place for the duration of the lease period.

RESERVATION OF A PORTION OF ERF 127222 CAPE TOWN: ELECTRICITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE (DEPARTMENT: ELECTRICITY GENERATION AND DISTRIBUTION)
 
RESOLVED that:

It is recommended that a portion of Erf 127222 Cape Town situated on Miriam Street, Alicedale, measuring approximately 18m2 in extent, indicated as ABCD on Plan STC 3088 marked annexure "A", be reserved for the Electricity Generation and Distribution Department, subject to the following conditions:
  1. The subject property shall be utilised for the purpose of an electricity substation only;
  2. The said department accepts full responsibility for the management and maintenance of the subject property, including, utility consumption, security and contents insurance.
  3. Electricity Generation and Distribution (Directorate: Energy and Climate Change) takes cognizance of and adheres to the conditions stated by the service branches in paragraph 9 below.
  4. All costs related to the reservation shall be for the account of the Electricity Generation and Distribution Department.
 
The house further resolved that:
 
  1. The substation must be fenced in and;
  2. Maintenance of the site should happen on a regular basis
