Subcouncil 15

Resolution detail

1. Subcouncil 15 ENDORSE the decision of Recreation & Parks, following the round table discussion, regarding the usage of the Thornton Sports Precinct for the next two to three years, namely

1. That the Thornton Islamic Society to continue to leasing the Thornton Sports Hall on a month to month basis 
2. That the Santos Soccer Club to continue to lease two of the fields currently occupied, on a month to month basis with reasonable access by the Community as per their lease.
3. That the Thornton Sports Club given access to the available fields on a book and play system
4. That the former Thornton Bowling Club to be repaired and made available for booking on a first come first served basis
5. That the future of the Precinct will be reconsidered in October 2020.

2. Subcouncil 15 ENDORSE the decision of Recreation & Parks, following the round table discussion, regarding the former Thornton Scout Hall namely that the hall will not be leased and will be booked via the booking office on a first come basis.

3. No further action is required with regards to the motion: future use of The Thornton Sports Precinct (erven 593, 11021 and 1217) and the former Thornton Scout Hall (erf 678RE).
