It is recommended that:

Council resolve that, in terms of Section 14(a) and (b) of the Local Government Municipal Finance Management Act 56 of 2003, that the subject properties are not needed to provide the minimum level of basic municipal services and has considered the fair market value of the asset and the economic and community value to be received in exchange for the asset;

Council not uphold the objection for the proposed demolition of the Deep Blue building located on Erf 1142, Beach Road in Strand and
-
Council approve the demolition of 12 buildings of the False Bay and Atlantic coastlines by the City of Cape Town, including Erf 1142 Strand; Erven 485, 498-Re, 472 Macassar; Farm 544-RE Monwabisi; Erf 87374-Re Sonwabe; Erf 4459-Re Simons’s Town; Farm 798-Re Witsand and Erf3400-Re Table View.
Subcouncil 8 further RESOLVED to RECOMMEND that,

The following comment submitted by Subcouncil 8 BE NOTED:
The request to prioritize the two identified erven namely; Deep Blue Ablution Facilities, Erf 1142-Re and Mosterts Bay Ablution Block, Strand, Erf 1142-Re as part of the 1st phase for demolishing derelict coastal infrastructures on the False Bay and Atlantic coastlines as the Helderberg is one of the biggest tourist destination and the said infrastructures is a nest for criminal, drug and other related criminal activities which have a negative impact on the said areas.
