Resolution detail
RESOLVED unanimously by the Subcouncil 2
-
That the feedback by the department for the Remedial Engineering Measures Programme: Traffic Calming Feedback on Olinia Street, Kuilsriver BE NOTED but NOT ACCEPTED;
-
That Olinia Street, Kuilsriver be RE-ASSESSED for traffic calming reason being that Olinia Street, Kuilsriver is a class 5 resident road that provides access to the residents and visitors to the area. It encloses on open land and has a length of approximately 90m. The road comprises of short curves and straight section of not more than 100m, this geometry makes it difficult for drivers to attain unacceptable high speeds. An unsurfaced sidewalk is provided on both sides of the road, which is considered as sufficient for the amount of pedestrian activity. An indicative traffic and pedestrian volume survey was observed and the results showed that the traffic and pedestrian activity was relatively low.
