Subcouncil 24 SUPPORTS the recommendations that:

It is recommended that erf 721 Firgrove situated along the Eerste River off Macassar Road, in extent 66 933 m2 and as indicated as ABCDEFGHJKLM on Plan EZ 105 attached as Annexure “A” be reserved for the Environmental Management Department, subject to the following conditions, that:

The subject property will be utilized for the purpose of the conservation of the larger Macassar Conservation Area, for environmental education, recreation and conservation purposes;

The Environmental Management Department take responsibility for the required land use processes, as well as compliance with any related legislation;

The said department accept full responsibility for the management and maintenance of the land and any structure to be erected thereon, including maintenance, utility consumption, security and content insurance, as is applicable;

All costs related to the above be provided for by the Environmental Management Department.
