It is recommended that erven 194 and 195 and a portion of Erf 1 Mfuleni situated at Eersteriver Way and Mfuleni Road, Mfuleni in extent 65485  and as indicated as ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRRSTUVWX on Plan EZ 124 attached as Annexure A, be reserved for the Informal Settlements and Backyarders Department, subject to the following conditions:
 

1. The subject property shall be utilised for the purpose of an upgrade of Informal Settlements Programme (UISP) project for the upgrading of Garden City Informal Settlement, in order improve service delivery and the de-densification of the existing settlement;

2. The informal settlements and Backyarders Department takes responsibility for the required land use processes, as well as compliances with any related legislation;

3. The said Department accepts full responsibility for the management and maintenance of the land and any structure to be erected thereon, including maintenance, utility consumption, security and content insurance as is applicable;

4. That all costs related to the above be provided for by the Informal Settlements and Backyarders Department.
