The Chairperson is happy with the recommendation and raised one concern and that it be taken up with Department about the security of the park around the bowls club and is aware that Parks has cleared the area recently of large amounts of vegetation but have also requested the gate above the bowls club to the park be locked and there was an agreement and hope that this request will be done. The other request came from the property complex regarding additional lighting in that area and would like to know if it was considered because he has forwarded to Parks and the Electricity Department. RESOLVED Sub-council supports the recommendation: It is recommended that the lease of portions of erven 1651 and 1655 Somerset West, shown hatched and lettered ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRST on the attached sketch ET 570 marked Annexure A, in extent approximately 1,0774 hectares, to Helderberg Bowling Club or their successors in title, be approved subject to inter alia the following conditions, that: a) A tariff rental of R785.09 per annum excluding VAT of 14% where applicable, being R109,91 (in total – R895) be payable; b) The lease will endure for a period of ten years, with the option to renew for a further ten years; c) The rental will be adjusted annually in terms of the rental tariff structure as approved by Council; d) The property be used for social purposes only; e) Subject to such further conditions to be imposed by the Director: Property Management in terms of her delegated authority; f) Subject to compliance with any other statutory requirements; g) No compensation will be payable for any improvement made to the property.
