RESOLVED
That Subcouncil 12 refused the application for extended trading days and hours, Sunday from 11H00-18H00 for Consumption Off Premises, reference no WCP033029, received from P & T Liquor Shop, trading from 18 Luiperd Crescent, Eastridge, for the following reasons:
1. The proposed use is not compatible with the residential environment in which it is located;
2. The following Places of Worship are located in close proximity to the liquor outlet, namely, the Church of Christ which is located on the cnr of Ribbock and Luiperd Crescent; City Mission, cnr of Klipspringer and Luiperd Crescent Eastridge; St Timothy Catholic Church on Buttress Street with Spine Road being the dividing arterial street;
3. There is a Home, named Ethel’s Place, located on Klipspringer Street, near the location of the liquor outlet where Youth and Vulnerable adults receive counselling for substance and alcohol abuse.
