RESOLVED That the Progressive Capital Expenditure report as at the end of November and December 2016, BE NOTED. COMMENTS ON PCER – JANUARY 2017 Ward 14 – Cllr Roelof Mare Cllr R Mare said that he has no comment on Ward 14 projects. Ernest Sonnenberg Ernest Sonnenberg indicated that the project regarding the installation of CCTV Camera’s is work in progress and this project is receiving attention. Question: Cllr R Mare wanted to know when will the Site Visit be arranged to visit the switchboard rooms where the Cameras are being operated from. Answer Ernest Sonnenberg indicated that the Chairperson, Cllr Cerfontein will confirm the date accordingly and forward to the Councillors. ACTION: ERNEST SONNENBERG / ZIMKITA SWARTBOOI Ward 16 Cllr J Fitz said that he has no comment on Ward 16 projects Ward 17 Cllr S Oerson said that she has no comment on Ward 17 projects and she is happy with the current expenditure. Ward 114 Cllr T Honono said that on page 54 of the PCER, project regarding Informal Settlements & Backyarders, the land was identified and zoned for Parks not to build houses, there was no clear public participation in the area, the community has stopped that project they want to do-away with Shacks, as the Ward Councillor of that area support that decision, there was not clear public participation hence, he does not support this project. Mr Johan Gerber Mr Johan Gerber stated that a consultant was appointed to work in the area, the results received from the consultant are those from the public, he suggested that it would be best to arrange a meeting with the Chairperson Cllr Cerfontein, the Subcouncil 22 Manager, Ward Councillor, consultant that was appointed with all the NGO’s for the Ward to elaborate on this process. Cllr C Heynes Cllr C Heynes stated that this is unacceptable and she would like to be part of that meeting, the Ward Councillor of Ward 114 is an elected member of the Ward, should be respected as he was elected by the people to serve the people, he should be treated with respect.
