Resolution detail

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that: a) it be SUPPORTED that having considered the Traffic Calming Policy, the Transport Department does not regard a raised traffic calming measure as warranted for the following reasons: (i) Camps Bay Drive is a class 3 primary arterial that connects the City to Camps Bay and is a tourist route, hence the mobility function must be protected (ii) Camps Bay Drive is a public transport route, carries IRT busses and emergency vehicles (iii) Bollards cannot be permitted next to a mobility roadway as they are hazards to traffic b) Transport Department’s recommendation that traffic enforcement be undertaken by the Traffic Manager BE APPROVED.
