UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
A consent to permit the operation of a sand mine on Erf 1197, Macassar Road, Macassar, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A hereto

REASONS FOR DECISION
The MPT APPROVED the application for the reasons set out in the Planner’s Report.

Amend Annexure A:
Correct paragraph 2.1.3 to read as follows:
That no permanent structures be erected on the premises

NOTE: The MPT recommends that Environmental Management Departments’ comments not be made conditions of approval but be forwarded to the Department of Mineral Resources to be addressed at the annual audit of their mining license.


Correct paragraph 2.3.3 to read as follows:
Within 3 months of the date of this approval, a method statement and plan must be compiled by a rehabilitation specialist. The method statement and plan must indicate how the proposed rehabilitation of the blocks in each of the remaining phases will be undertaken, as well as the proposed seed that will be used for reseeding.
