Resolution details

After discussion, the panel agreed that this application be REFERRED BACK for the city official and applicant, in consultation with the civic association, to provide more detail with respect to staff and management of staff, to provide a revised sketch plan, address concerns around the design, scale, safety, parking, landscaping, recreational space and staff facilities.

FOR NOTING:
The MPT noted with concern that the TIA branch did not submit its comment within the prescribed timelines. The case officer then decided to complete the report and submit it to the MPT for a decision. As the TIA branch’s comments are considered critical by the MPT it was formulated as one of the reasons why the report has to be referred back.
The MPT further noted that in future it will consider to summon an official from an internal service department that did not submit its comment in time directly to the MPT meeting so that such official/expert can provide technical input and advice.
This matter is considered serious as the MPT also noted that in an earlier application in Founders Way, that important comment was not received from the Transport Department within the timeline.
