RESOLVED that:

The application for consent for a freestanding telecommunication base station in terms of Item 99(b) of the Development Management Scheme for Erf 115400 Cape Town at Heathfield, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.

REASONS FOR DECISION
1. The application is not consistent with the City’s Spatial Development Framework and does not align with the City’s Transport Orientated Development Strategy
2. The proposal was not clearly presented, specifically with respect to the location of telecommunication infrastructure in the surrounding area
3. No indication was presented as to whether service providers have explored all available alternative sites in the area
