UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
The application for Consent to permit a rooftop base telecommunication station on Erf 62198 Cape Town BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98 of the Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to the conditions in Annexure A of the report.
REASONS FOR DECISION:
1. The proposed rooftop base telecommunication station will not result in a negative impact on the surrounding population and environment.
2. There will not be any negative visual impact as the telecommunication infrastructure will be located on the existing highest minaret of the Place of Worship (mosque) and all associated cables and equipment will be painted to match the existing wall colour.
3. The approval of this application does not impact on any existing rights and does not lack desirability.
4. The application complies with the requirements of the City’s Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy.
