Resolution details

RESOLVED:

a. That the application for a consent use in respect of Erf 8640 Parow, Ravensmead, to allow for the installation of a cellular mast and base station BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b)(i) of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law. 2015, subject to the conditions contained in attached Annexure A.

b. That the application for a permanent departure to permit the relaxation of the 5m common boundary building lines to 0.0m in respect of erf 8640 Parow, Ravensmead, to allow for the installation of a cellular mast and base station BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b)(i) of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to the conditions contained in attached Annexure A.


REASONS FOR DECISION:

1. The application is seen to be in line with the objectives of the Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy (TMIP) in terms of improved communication, location, visual impact, impact on services, public health and safety.
2. No antenna will encroach onto the 50m habitable exposure zone as the maximum allowable height for the nearby block of flats (GB2 Zone) is 15m,
3. The proposed departures are considered to be acceptable as it will not have any negative impact on the well-being or on the character of the neighbourhood.
