Resolution detail

That the Quarterly Reports: Disaster Risk Management Centre: October to December 2017 BE NOTED and that the following concerns be forwarded to the line department for feedback: i. On the synopsis of Disaster Risk Management Operational Activities schedule for Area North the report mentions the Major hazardous Installation such as Koeberg Nuclear Power Station, but the report does not indicate whether training is required at the facility. The councillor said there needs to be constant training at such hazardous facilities. ii. At Cape Gate Shopping Centre the emergency exercise were cancelled and it raises a concern. iii. At the New Christian Barnard Hospital and Tafelberg Water Treatment Plant the report indicates that the emergency plan is being drafted. The councillor expressed his concern that the facilities are operational but has no emergency plan in place. FOR INFORMATION: GREG PILLAY
