Traffic calming measures aim to prioritise road safety in our communities<p>​</p><p>The following traffic calming measures have been identified for implementation in the 2022/23 financial year:<br></p><p><strong>Speed humps:</strong></p><ul><li>Ward 29: Gouda Street, Avondale – Atlantis Vaardigheid Skool</li><li>Ward 29: Grosvenor Avenue and Gouda Street, Avondale</li><li>Ward 29: Bishop Mark Street, Mamre</li><li>Ward 54: Arthurs Road, Sea Point</li><li>Ward 56: Boston Street, Kensington – Windermere Primary School</li><li>Ward 56: Eighth Avenue, Kensington – St Johns Primary School</li><li>Ward 56: Eighth Avenue, Kensington – ECD School</li><li>Ward 56: Thirteenth Avenue, Kensington</li><li>Ward 57: Nuttall Road, Observatory – Observatory Junior School</li><li>Ward 57: Cecil Road, Salt River</li><li>Ward 77: Caledon Street, Zonnebloem</li><li>Ward 113: Circle Road, Table View – New Generation School and Rising Star</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Raised pedestrian crossings:</strong></p><ul><li>Ward 29: Nightingale Road, Avondale</li><li>Ward 29: Grosvenor Avenue, Avondale – Avondale Primary School entrance</li><li>Ward 51: Washington Drive, Langa</li><li>Ward 77: Caledon Street, Zonnebloem</li><li>Ward 115: Cavalcade Road, Green Point</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Raised intersection:</strong></p><ul><li>Ward 77: Hanover and Searle Street, District Six</li><li>Ward 113: Cnr Gie Road and Circle Road, Table View</li></ul><p> </p><p>'These traffic calming interventions represent an investment in our communities to make roads safer for all road users.
