Your motor vehicle needs to be registered and licensed by the City of Cape Town to comply with national legislation. If you live within the City's boundaries, you can do so at any of the City's MVR offices, or pay your licence online. 

There are over a million vehicles currently registered on the Electronic National Traffic Information System (eNaTIS) (ITP, 2009), which is the official register for all vehicle, driving licence, contravention and accident data.
