Khayelitsha housing and access to land
The housing and access to land project addresses human settlement development in Khayelitsha.

Housing projects in Khayelitsha were completed in the last seven years and include developments such as Green Point, Site C Buffer Zone, Kuyasa, Mandela Park and People Housing Process (PHP).

The demand and need for housing in Khayelitsha is still a daunting challenge as approximately 51% of houses in the area are pre-dominantly informal settlements.

In order to address the housing demand, chosen locations for re-settlement of some of the households were identified by the City and include Nuwebegin, Blue Downs and Blue Berry. The relocation sites are currently being serviced.
