- targeting the right market segments for sustainable growth and optimising seasonal and geographical spread of tourists
- Developing effective marketing strategies
- Implementing responsible tourism strategies and policies
- Providing funding for tourism promotion
- Facilitating joint marketing alignments and initiatives with Cape Town Routes Unlimited and Cape Town Tourism
Strategic Tourism Infrastructure
This unit is responsible for:
- Creating a conducive environment for tourism development through public sector investments and infrastructure that supports product and destination development
- Developing sustainable and responsible tourism plant development
- Enhancing transportation access to destinations and attractions
Tourism Industry Liaison
This unit is responsible for:
- Co-ordinating activities with the City and for ensuring alignment with other spheres of government and related tourism organisations
- Building partnerships between public, private sector and local communities
- Enhancing co-operation and communication between tourism
Tourism Policy
This unit is responsible for:
- Tourism Policies
- Coordinating and facilitating tourism input into other policies and projects
