In 2004 the City of Cape Town commissioned a study to provide
data to inform the upgrading of the city's informal settlements.
A total of 900 households in Joe Slovo, Nonqubela K-section and
Sweet Home were interviewed for this purpose, and photographic studies and reports on the economic and health profiles and housing issues were compiled. The executive summary and the main report
as well as the individual settlement reports are available for
download below.
