Drop off facilities

City of Cape Town Drop-off Facilities

General household or garden waste can be dropped off in-between waste collection days at any of the City’s 20 drop-off facilities. View/download table - | Eng | Afr | Xho | , View/download -map.

Up to 1 300kg (1,3 tons) of non-hazardous waste may be disposed at any of these sites, at no cost. Some drop-off sites also provide facilities for recycling of residential special waste such as motor oil, cans and metal, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, electronic waste – known as e-waste, builder’s rubble and polystyrene. Waste that is not recyclable or re-useable is then transported to the landfill for disposal.
