NATIONAL BUILDING REGULATIONS AND BUILDING STANDARDS ACT

The purpose of this Act is to promote uniformity in law relating to the construction of buildings in municipal areas, and to prescribe building standards for this purpose. National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act (No. 103 of 1977).

    ARCHITECTURAL PROFESSIONS ACT

    Since 1 July 2006, anyone practising architecture or submitting architectural building plans to Council must be registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) in one of the following categories:

    • Professional Architect (PrArch)
    • Professional Senior Architectural Technologist (PrSArchT)
    • Professional Architectural Technologist (PrArchT)
    • Professional Draughtsperson (PrArchDraught)

BOUNDARY WALLS AND FENCES POLICY
