South African Planning Institute (SAPI)

SAPI is a voluntary organisation which seeks to promote planning as a profession and uphold standards of conduct. This site gives access to the three voluntary organisations that seek to promote planning as a discipline and the interests of the planning profession. Website: www.saplanners.org.za

South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP)

Since 1 July 2006, anyone practising architecture or submitting architectural building plans to local authorities is obliged to register under the Architectural Profession Act (44 of 2000) with SACAP. Website: www.sacapsa.com

Provincial Government Western Cape (PGWC)

Cape Gateway is a government service aimed primarily at citizens of the Western Cape, providing information on local and provincial government. Website: http://www.capegateway.gov.za/

Surveyor General's Office (SG)

The Surveyor-General's role is to:

  • examine approved diagrams, general plans and sectional title plans prior to them being registered in a Deeds Registry
  • preserve and update all documents and records pertaining to cadastral surveys
  • prepare and update cadastral maps and plans both in paper and digital form
  • supply copies of documents kept in the office in hard copy or digital form. The office also provides advice and information pertaining to cadastre to the public.
