Fourth IRT Project Report available
The fourth IRT Project Report, which was completed at the end of April 2010, deals with the work undertaken in March 2010.

As is usual, the project provides details on all the latest construction work, including the newly started foreshore staging area and Inner City depot site.

The report discusses the findings of the SARS decision on what parts of the project are VAT exempt, and a tender to be released for professional project management service provider

Processes underway include IRT vehicle delivery, which is ahead of schedule, ongoing discussions with the minibus industry regarding transport services during the FIFA 2010 World Cup, a new procurement process for advertising on IRT buses during the FIFA 2010 World Cup, and the processing of an internal response to the Due Diligence report that was recently completed.

The City is also finishing its Business Plan review, which is being tweaked to minimise the operating deficit, with a major review of the infrastructure and operating cost modelling of Phase 1A underway. The Report also provides the current estimated cost projections for this phase.
