Power failures and street lighting faults
Power failures and street lighting faults should be reported to the Electricity Technical Operation Centre (TOC) on any one of the following channels – these channels are monitored 24 hours a day.

When reporting power failures please include the following details:
- the name and address of the affected person
- their account number or prepayment meter number
- a description of the fault or query
- a contact number of the affected person
When reporting street lighting failures:
- state the location of the street lighting problem
- provide your name, address and contact number
Although personal details above (for power failure reports) are not essential, these assist to identify the complaint and the address on the City’s database.
Please take note of the reference number that will be issued to you, and please quote it on any follow up call relating to the same incident.
Please be aware that at times of large system power failures resulting from winter storms the number of consumers trying to contact the TOC creates long waiting times in the queue on the TOC telephone number. During such instances it is better to send an e-mail or SMS to report a problem.

This service is operational on:
- Mondays to Fridays - 07:00 to 21:00
- Saturdays - 08:00 to 14:00
- Sundays and public holidays - 09:00 to 13:00
