We have over 166 sports ground facilities set in picturesque surroundings. These are available to all Captonians and visitors, including international teams who make regular use of them. PP Smit Sports Ground

The PP Smit Sports Ground, in Durban Road, Bellville, hosts a wide variety of sports including baseball, cricket, hockey and soccer.

It comprises four soccer fields, two cricket fields, three baseball fields and two clubhouses.

International teams regularly use this facility for practising purposes – a recent highlight being the pre-game match between the Proteas and the Rest of Africa. Western Province games are regularly played on the fields.

Stephan Reagan Sports Ground

The Stephan Reagan Sports Ground is situated in Park Avenue, Westridge, Mitchells Plain. This extensive facility hosts a number of sporting activities such as darts, netball, baseball, softball, athletics, cricket, soccer, hockey and swimming. It also supports volunteer programmes.

Stephan Reagan consists of seven soccer fields with one soccer oval, three cricket pitches with one cricket oval, two baseball pitches and four netball courts. Each pitch contains an ablution facility with dressing rooms.

There is also a boardroom, referees’ room and office space.

Some of the main events held at this facility are the Annual 12 Hour Marathon hosted by the Cancer Association as well as the Interschool band competition hosted by South African Police.
