Muizenberg Beach

Muizenberg

Muizenberg Beach is a popular 200 m sandy shoreline with plenty of public parking. Muizenberg has been a popular destination for beachgoers for hundreds of years! Many visitors spent the summer months at Muizenberg and one can still see the characteristic and colourful beach changing booths that have appeared in so many photographs over the years.

Muizenberg Beach is popular with families as the nearby Muizenberg Pavilion offers a water slide, outdoor swimming pool and putt-putt (mini-golf) course. A walk along the seafront walkway (Muizenberg to St James) offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the shoreline, rock pools and engage in some whale watching (June to November).
There are numerous restaurants and interesting shops in the back beach area. A number of local surf shops hire out boards and offer lessons. Surfers’ Corner, at the end of the beach, is an excellent spot for novice or beginner surfers. There is also a variety of snacks, cold drinks, fast food and ice cream available from the local beach vendors and the nearby kiosk.
