Solid Waste Technical Services Management consists of various departments:

Solid Waste Fleet Management

Solid Waste Fleet Management is responsible for the full vehicular requirement to ensure that all the internal clients’ vehicle requirements are met within a reasonable time to ensure a high standard of the service delivery to the City of Cape Town external clients. Within the Fleet Management environment it is imperative that accurate record keeping is maintained to effectively manage the proper utilization of the departments’ fleet and also to ensure the assets under our control are maintained to the highest standards as laid out within the Municipal Systems Act.

Facilities and Fixed Plant

Facilities and Fixed Plant’s core function is to maintain and upgrade Solid Waste Management facilities, manage Solid Waste projects and do tenders.

Occupational Health and Safety

Occupational Health and Safety ensures our business operations are without undue risk to the health and safety of employees and in compliance with relevant legislative requirements.

Mechanical Workshop

Mechanical Workshop is responsible for major breakdowns, repairs, regular servicing and maintenance of Solid Waste Management’s vehicles and heavy plant machinery/equipment. The maintenance schedules, includes hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, panel-beating repairs and servicing, tyre management of plant equipment, light and heavy duty, and specialised vehicles. Mechanical Workshop is also involved with a range of mechanical support services and a diversity of mechanical tasks that changes every day as per requirements of our customers.
