City’s libraries offer special holiday programmes for children

The City’s Library and Information Services Department will once again offer various activities at selected libraries during December and January as part of its annual holiday programme.

Activities include puppet shows, arts and craft activities, story-telling, DVD screenings, competitions, puzzles, games and face painting, amongst others.

“The Holiday Programme will be presented at various libraries across Cape Town and parents will be able to participate in activities at some of the libraries as well. I encourage parents to contact their local library to see what programmes are being run in their area during the school holdays and to encourage their children to take part,” said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services, Councillor Brett Herron.

The following libraries will host holiday programmes:

Athlone, Bridgetown, Crossroads, Durbanville, Edgemead, Eersterivier, Elsies River, Hangberg, Hout Bay, Kensington, Kloof Street, Kommetjie, Langa, Lansdowne, Manenberg, Melton Rose, Milnerton, Observatory, Ocean View, PD Paulse(Kuils River), Philippi East, Pinelands, Ravensmead, Retreat, Rondebosch, Scottsdene, Sea Point, Southfield, Strandfontein, Table View, Wesfleur and Woodstock.

Libraries can be contacted directly for more details about their programmes.
