Partial lane closures on Blaauwberg Road in May
Certain intersections along Blaauwberg Road will be closed over weekends during May due to roadworks, which will have an effect on motorists in the Table View and surrounding areas.

Roadworks will commence on Friday evenings and remain in place for the duration of the weekend, weather permitting. The first closures will take place this weekend, 10 to 12 May 2013.

The planned programme for the final resurfacing of these intersections will proceed on the following weekends:

  • Jansens Road – 10 to 12 May 2013
  • Wood Drive/Study Road – 17 to 19 May 2013
  • Boy de Goede Circle – 24 to 26 May 2013
  • Gie Road/Gill Road – 31 May to 2 June 2013

Work will commence on the Friday evenings starting at 18:00 and will continue through the weekend. The construction is being done on a continuous basis over the weekend to ensure that work is completed and the road re-opened by 05:00 on Monday morning. This will maximise the amount of work that can be completed, and also to avoid disrupting traffic during the peak travelling hours between Mondays and Fridays. All work is dependent on the weather.

Traffic will be deviated as required depending on the closure in effect at the time. These deviations will be clearly marked and where possible flagmen will be on hand to help redirect traffic.

Should the work be completed ahead of schedule, the closed lanes will be re-opened as soon as possible.

The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their patience and understanding.
