The City of Cape Town is accepting naming proposals for six unnamed footbridges across Nelson Mandela Boulevard (N2) and one footbridge that crosses the M3.
The naming proposal period will conclude on 28 February 2014.
Have your say and suggest names of, for example, indigenous, traditional figures or leaders of Cape Town’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, motivational names or even names of fauna or flora.
The city-wide public participation process will ensure that residents across all communities have an equal opportunity to submit comments.
‘This process is part of a broader initiative to rename key streets across the city as part of this administration’s commitment to reconciliation and redress, and to building a truly inclusive city for all residents,’ says the Chairperson of the Naming Committee, Councillor Brett Herron.
