Disruption of water supply to parts of Fish Hoek on Wednesday night

The Water and Sanitation Department will be installing additional control valves on the water supply line in Fish Hoek on Wednesday 15 June 2011, which will result in the disruption of the water supply to residents in the affected area from 22:00 until Thursday morning at 02:00.

Residents in the following roads will be without water during this period: Lower Kildare Road, Kinrae Road, Orlando Road, Ivanhoe Road and 11 th, 12 th and 13th Avenues (in the vicinity of the Pick n Pay and Spar shopping centres).

These valves will enable better control of the water supply when work is being done on the water supply lines, as it will minimise the areas that will be impacted.

Residents are kindly requested to store sufficient water in clean, sealed containers for domestic consumption to minimise the inconvenience.

A water tanker will be located at the Spar shopping centre should residents require any water for domestic consumption.

Residents must also ensure that their taps are closed whilst the work is in progress to eliminate the possibility of water loss or damage being incurred when the water supply and pressure is restored while nobody is at home.

The City wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused. It is imperative that we maintain our water supply infrastructure to ensure the continued supply of quality drinking water to our citizens.
