Graham Power and Mynie Grové will be the latest celebrities to add their handprints to the Mandela Legacy Canvas.

The City of Cape Town launched the ‘famous handprints’ project as part of its World Cup legacy projects to honour former president, Nelson Mandela. The collage of 67 palm imprints will be auctioned later to raise funds for the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
Executive Mayor Dan Plato, Western Cape Premier Helen Zille, and American R&B superstar, R Kelly, were the first to place their hand imprints on the canvas.
Others include Prince Albert of Monaco, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Brian Adams, Morgan Freeman, Graeme Smith, Francois Pienaar and Gary Player.
Mynie Grové: Acclaimed singer, composer, songwriter, music producer and business consultant. Mynie started playing the piano at the age of 3. Discovered by German producer Claude Larson, she performed for German TV’s Rundfunk 1, and co-founded the Claude Larson Singers, which developed into a duo called ‘Mynie & Jan’. She became popular with South African viewers after acting in several movies and TV series. Besides performing with local stars, she has also shared the spotlight with international superstars such as Gloria Estefan, Andy Gibb and Jose Feliciano. Her Amagroove Youth Choir has performed with Josh Groban, Diana Ross and Michael Bublè. Under her own label, Vusa Records, she manages a catalogue of 450 of her own songs and compositions.
Graham Power is the founder and Chairman of the Power Group, one of the leaders in civil engineering, development and construction in Southern Africa. In 25 years he developed a company with just one employee, one vehicle and minimal capital, into a powerhouse of almost 2 000 employees. In 2001 he led a gathering in Cape Town that saw 45 000 Christians fill Newlands Stadium to pray for South Africa. This became a global movement with similar prayer events being held in nearly every country in the world. He is the chairman of Transformation Africa and the Global Day of Prayer, and is founder of the Unashamedly Ethical campaign that challenges people to fight against systemic corruption.
