Public encouraged to use public transport for PSL matches at Cape Town Stadium on Friday
MEDIA RELEASE
24 AUGUST 2010
NO. 622 / 2010

Cape Town Stadium will host the exciting Premiership League double-header on Friday 27 August 2010. Ticket-holders for the event are encouraged to utilise the City’s public transport system, which proved so successful in ferrying people to and from the Cape Town Stadium on match days during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

“Ticket holders for the game on 27 August are entitled to free access to rail and/or the dedicated event shuttle services. In addition, special trains will be laid on after each of the matches,” said Maddie Mazaza, the City’s Director:Transport.

Event-related public transport will be available in addition to the regular public transport system. The Cape Town rail station, Golden Acre bus terminus, long distance bus terminal, main mini-bus taxi rank, metered-taxi ranks and Civic Centre bus station are all within close proximity to the Stadium shuttle service and fan walk.

Information on both regular and event-related public transport is available from the 24/7 Transport Information Centre toll-free on 0800 65 64 63. Event-related enquiries can also be sent to transport.info@capetown.gov.za

Spectators are warned that for this event a match ticket only allows access to the stadium once. Spectators who leave during the game (i.e between 18:00 and 22:45) will not be allowed back into the stadium.
