MAYOR ZILLE TO VISIT 'JAILED' DIRECTOR
On 11 August at 18:30, Mayor Helen Zille will visit Autism Western Cape’s Executive Director, Gerhard Pieterse in his jail cell located at Canal Walk.

Mr Pieterse has decided to stay in jail until his 'bail' of R1 million is raised, as part of Autism Western Cape’s “Jail4Bail” fundraising and awareness initiative.

This initiative has been running since 16 June, when Pieterse entered his jail cell in Bayside Mall, Tableview.

On 25 July, the next leg of the project kicked off in Canal Walk, when Pieterse and his jail cell moved to the Lee Cooper Court (near Nu Metro) in partnership with the Canal Walk Foundation.

Mayor Zille will visit him and make a donation toward his bail.
