Law Enforcement Officers arrest three car thieves half an hour after break-in

City of Cape Town Law Enforcement Officers arrested three suspects in Tafelsig on charges of theft, within half an hour of the crime taking place, yesterday morning, 26 January 2012.

Officers were in the Wolfgat parking area obtaining information from a member of the public whose car had just been broken into, when the suspects entered the parking area again. The complainant identified them and the officers gave chase. They found the suspects in Alp Street, Tafelsig along with items belonging to the complainant including a pair of sunglasses valued at R1 700,00 and a cooler box.

The three suspects, who were all from Mitchells Plain, gained access to the goods in the vehicle by breaking the passenger window. They have been linked to at least one other recent robbery case in the area for which they will face additional charges.
