The City of Cape Town has appointed Mr Robert Young, currently Chief of Municipal Police Services for the Swartland Municipality, as its Chief of Metro Police.

Mr Young (42) has a BA in Police Science (UNISA) and diplomas in Traffic Science and Municipal and Traffic Policing.

He commenced his municipal career in 1989 as a Traffic Officer with the former Parow Municipality. He then joined the Traffic Department of the Port Elizabeth Municipality and was Head of Training: Municipal Police at the Philippi College before taking up his current post in Moorreesburg in September 2004.
