A series of eight colourful, educational pamphlets on Cape Town's unique ecosystems and species. The fact sheets present the biophysical environment, threats, conservation status, benefits and actions you can take to help conserve our unique biodiversity in Cape Town.


 Soccer and the Environment "Making Connections" Grade 7 Teacher's Guide and wall poster 2010/02/15
This educational programme encourages learners to become more environmentally aware and sensitive to local issues. The unique feature of "Making Connections" is that it allows learners to explore environmental issues through the game of soccer. With the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ being held in South Africa, there is a keen interest in soccer at this time. The colourful and engaging poster contains soccer actions and an environmental action is linked to each one. The teacher's guide suggests practical ideas to help learners take action by scoring 'green goals' for the earth to get ahead on the scoreboard.

A useful guideline document for Environmental Assessment Practitioners to assist them to obtain integrated comments from the City of Cape Town on applications submitted in terms of the National Environmental Management Act and the Minerals & Petroleum Resources Development Act.


 City of Cape Town Biodiversity Network - Analysis: 2009 Methods and Results report, Dec. 2009 2010/02/05
This report serves as a record of the methods and key results from the 2009 re-analysis of the City of Cape Town’s Terrestrial Biodiversity Network (BioNet). The re-analysis was required due to the recent availability of information on the condition of the habitat remnants in the BioNet.


 City of Cape Town Beaches - A diversity of coastal treasures 2010/01/29
A very informative book on Cape Town’s beaches, providing a description and the history of every beach, the beach location, activities associated with each beach, and an abundance of photographs. A hard copy of the book is available at selected Cape Town Tourism visitor information centres at a cost of R26.00. The visitor centres are Cape Town (Burg Street), Hout Bay, Muizenberg, Gugulethu, Simon’s Town, Willowbridge, Blaauwberg, Langa, Somerset West, Strand and Khayelitsha.
