16 March 2016 - 21st Energy Efficiency Forum for the Commercial Sector
Owners and managers of commercial and public buildings and commercial operations in Cape Town are invited to attend the next Energy Efficiency Forum meeting.

09:00 Updates from: Eskom, City of Cape Town, Energy Game Changer with Western Cape Provincial Government, and others.
Safe and legal solar photovoltaic (PV) installation
Launch of the City’s guidelines on safe installation (including what to look for in a service provider) and discussion about legality and safety issues with City and SAPVIA.
Solar PV panel discussion on lessons learned
Companies that have done PV installations will share their interesting and sometimes surprising lessons e.g. procurement, installations, panel orientation and maintenance. They will offer advice to those who want to 'go solar'.
Disclosure of energy performance in buildings
Barry Bredenkamp from SANEDI will present the new national standard for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). The City will lead a discussion with the audience about options for a voluntary programme for reporting energy performance of commercial buildings.

The Forum is a collaboration between the City of Cape Town, Eskom and the South African Property Owners Association. It is co-funded by Old Mutual and the University of Cape Town’s Energy Research Centre, and also supported by Accelerate Cape Town, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town Partnership, Green Building Council SA, SA Council of Shopping Centres and Western Cape Government.
