10 March 2015 - 18th Energy Efficiency Forum for the Commercial Sector
Owners and managers of commercial and public buildings in Cape Town, particularly building and facilities managers, are invited to attend the first meeting of the Energy Efficiency Forum in 2015.
The forum aims to provide owners and managers of offices, buildings, shopping centres or hotels with practical 'know how' on how to implement energy efficiency improvements in their own buildings and to create a platform for collective action and shared learning.

Theme: Constructive responses to the electricity supply crisis.
The current electricity shortage has reached crisis levels and it’s not going to go away soon. At this interactive meeting, we will discuss options for the commercial sector to deal with the crisis. Sector players and experts will share their views and be available for questions.

- A panel discussion on 'The Way Forward with Embedded Energy'. The panel includes: a representative from Cape Town business, Black River Park, City of Cape Town, Eskom, Green Cape and SA Photovoltaic Industry Association.
- Updates from Eskom and City of Cape Town - including forthcoming tariff increases in July 2015, Energy Game-Changer Process and GBCSA.
- A case study on Hotel Verde’s performance and experience as a building and operation designed for energy efficiency.
- Plus other news, innovations and forthcoming events and training opportunities.

The EE Forum aims to provide owners and managers of all commercial and large institutional properties with practical 'know how' on how to implement energy efficiency improvements, and to create a platform for collective action and shared learning.
The Energy Efficiency Forum for Commercial Buildings is a collaboration between the City of Cape Town, Eskom and the South African Property Owners Association. It is co-funded by Old Mutual.
The Forum is supported by Accelerate Cape Town, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town Partnership, Green Building Council SA, SA Council of Shopping Centres, University of Cape Town and Western Cape Government.
