The City's 18 driving licence testing centres (DLTCs) are located at central points throughout Cape Town. Every month these process an average of 5 000 learners’ driving and 5 300 driving licence tests. They also issue and renew professional driving permits (PRDPs) and driving card licences for over one million road users. Roadworthy certificates can be obtained at any of the centres marked with an asterisk (*) in the list below, as well as private testing stations appointed by the Provincial Government of the Western Cape (such as the AA).

Opening hours are from 08:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 11:00 on Saturdays. The following testing centres are open on Saturdays:

Complaints about service delivery, conversion of foreign licences, appeals against failing a driving test or difficulties with booking appointments may be lodged with the DLTCs' management representatives.
