The number of sanitary facilities provided for the population and occupancy of the building to be served, shall be adequate, if in accordance with the tables below.

Number to be provided, depends on type and design. Table 5 may be used as a guideline

Exemptions

1.      In any building where facilities in accordance with Table 6 are available to both staff members and the public, no seperate facilities shall be required for the public.

2.      No seperate facilities for the public shall be required within any shop having a floor area less than 50 sqm. In any group of shops under one ownership or complex on a single site -

o        Facilities for staff members may be situated at convenient locations and not necessarily in any particular shop or shops.

o        Facilities for the public may be situated at convenient locations and not necessarily in any particular shop or shops.

o        Facilities for staff members may be combined with those for the public.

3.      If staff members are exposed to high risk substances, dirt, dust, oil, soot, grease or similar substances that makes showers necessary, at least 1 shower per 15 persons shall be provided separately for each sex, and those showers shall be located near to, or have direct access to change rooms.
