Cape Town stadium workers catch soccer fever Workers at the new Cape Town stadium, like thousands of other Capetonians, are in the grip of ‘football fever’. They won’t win the 2010 World Cup, but the stadium football team are a proud lot and are holding top spot in the construction workers’ league. Last year they beat 42 other construction teams in Gauteng to win the national trophy. (More)

Cape Town stadium set for completion in three months The glass roof of the new Cape Town Stadium will be completed and sealed, and the fabric membrane underneath fully installed by 15 October – well on schedule for the handover of the stadium to the City of Cape Town on 14 December 2009 this year. Cape Town's newly formed Climate Change ‘Think-Tank’ met for the
first time on 22 September 2009, and aims to inform, shape and
drive the implementation of effective climate change policies,
programmes and interventions at local level.
