Temporary closure of Hertzog Boulevard intersection with Jan Smuts Street/Civic Avenue
Construction of Cape Town’s new Integrated Rapid Transit (IRT) system on Hertzog Boulevard will prevent vehicles moving between its carriageways where it intersects with Jan Smuts Street/Civic Avenue from 09:00 on Friday 15 January 2010 until Sunday evening, 24 January 2010. (More)

  Mayco adopts Medium Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework
The City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee has adopted its Medium Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework (MTREF) to guide the municipality’s budget formulation for the next three years. (More)
Your chance to try out new Cape Town Stadium
On 23 January, football fans will get to test the brand new R4.5 billion Cape Town Stadium at the inaugural match of the Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival. The match, which is hosted by the City of Cape Town and sponsored by Virgin Active, will be between Premier Soccer League giants Santos and Ajax Cape Town. Twenty thousand tickets will be sold. City opens all beaches following assessment by shark spotters
Following close assessment by shark spotters late on Wednesday afternoon, all City beaches were opened for swimming on Thursday morning. The beaches from Glencairn to Strandfontein Pavilion were closed on Tuesday following a fatal shark attack at Fish Hoek beach. (More)
City sponsors annual Suidoosterfees
The City of Cape Town is once again a title sponsor of the Suidoosterfees, an annual celebration of art and culture. This year's Suidoosterfees festival takes place at Artscape from 26-31 January. (More)
