Third outpatient drug treatment centre opens
The City of Cape Town has opened its third Matrix outpatient alcohol and drug treatment site in Delft South, to make it easier for residents of the area to access treatment for alcohol and drug abuse and addiction. The opening on 11 November 2009 was attended by Helen Zille, Premier of the Western Cape, Councillor Grant Pascoe, Mayoral Committee Member for Social Development, and Councillor Dumisani Ximbi, Mayoral Committee Member for Health.

Cape Town's water comes out tops
The City of Cape Town was one of only three South African municipalities to receive a 100% score in the Blue Drop Certificate for Drinking Water Quality at the second Drinking Water Quality Conference held in Port Elizabeth in May this year. (More)
City signs agreement on access to information
The City of Cape Town has signed a co-operative agreement with the Provincial Government of the Western Cape (PGWC) and the Open Democracy Advice Centre (ODAC) to promote access to information and transparency. (More)
